Melissa Jenkins

Oncology Nurse Practitioner | ARNP, MSN

Favorite Mantra:

“Even on my worst day, I can take something positive from the day to hold onto. If I can do the smallest thing to brighten a day or give hope when there is little, I win.”Melissa Jenkins.

Melissa Jenkins was born and raised in Washington State and later moved to Tennessee during her high school and college years.

Melissa is a dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of Oncology experience. Before practicing the last 4 years as a Nurse Practitioner, Melissa practiced for 12 years as an Oncology Registered Nurse.

Melissa carries quotes from two of her favorite cancer fighters with her as she treats patients:

“I Win!” – Melissa’s Mother, Terrie LaVon, would say with each lower tumor marker or improved/stable scan. Even on her last day 13 years later it was on her terms again, she won.

“Live Big!” – A Sweet young mother of two living each day for her husband and her kids, knowing she has limited time. As long as you live big no matter what time you have you win too.

Melissa states “I win every day I am privileged enough to be trusted to care for people in their fight.”
