Salish Cancer Center’s COVID-19 Policy & FAQs

ANSWER: Any patient who has COVID-like symptoms and/or has COVID-19 exposure needs to obtain a Negative COVID PCR Test (non-rapid test) prior to coming into the clinic. The patient will need to notify clinic staff of test results at 253-382-6300.

For patients that tested positive for COVID-19, clinic staff will follow up with each patient periodically for telehealth appts as appropriate until each patient has a Negative COVID PCR Test and are able to return in-person to the clinic.

ANSWER: Yes. You may bring ONE visitor who is 15+ years of age. All other friends/family may participate via telehealth. Please notify the clinic at 253-382-6300, and the front office staff will send a telehealth link with instructions.

NOTE: Exceptions will need to be authorized by either the Practice Administrator or Medical Director on a case-by-case basis.

ANSWER: Patients hospitalized (not an urgent care or emergency room visit) will need a 5-day post-hospital Negative COVID PCR Test before returning to the clinic.

ANSWER: Vaccines are encouraged for the safety of all patients and staff at Salish Cancer Center.

NOTE: All Staff is required to be fully vaccinated by October 18, 2021.

ANSWER: You can obtain a COVID-19 PCR test through your PCP, CVS, Walgreens, and King or Pierce County public health.

ANSWER: Puyallup Tribal Health Authority provides Moderna booster shots for patients and staff at Salish Cancer Center. The Medical Director will assess which patients from an oncology standpoint are appropriate for the booster.

ANSWER: No. If you need to be vaccinated, please follow up with your PCP, CVS, Walgreens, or King/Pierce County Public Health.

ANSWER: Yes. The clinic’s front office staff will be screening patients, visitors, and staff before entering the clinic. The information will be tracked regularly and given to the Practice Administrator.

NOTE: Anyone who has tested positive must have a Negative COVID PCR Test before returning in-person to the clinic.

ANSWER:  Yes. A disposable facemask is required to enter Salish Cancer Center. Facemask rules apply to patients, staff, and visitors at all times.

  • Disposable facemasks are required and worn in the clinic. 
  • A disposable facemask may be worn over a reusable mask.
  • Disposable facemasks provisions are available to any patient, visitor, or staff member.
